TA £25,183 pro rata

Cockermouth School Academy is a high performing, truly comprehensive and inclusive school in the heart of our community. We are building our team of educational support staff and are seeking candidates for a variety of exciting roles within our highly regarded team.
If you work with children already, for example, in early years, primary, secondary, post 16 or other settings and want to develop your skills with a caring and nurturing team we are keen to hear from you. Interested candidates can call us to discuss the roles and we can arrange for you to pop by and see us in our learning support setting.
We wish to appoint STA’s / TA’s / Apprentices to join our successful Learning Support Department in its work supporting all students at Cockermouth School and in particular students with a range of Special Educational Needs including in our Strategically Resourced Provision for Autism (SRP). We are a large centre for special education needs and offer training, development and a friendly team setting for you to develop in your role.
We are seeking candidates with initiative to work independently, a willingness to learn and develop, capacity to contribute to a team approach, flexibility and a genuine empathy for students with SEN. Experience and or qualifications from working in schools, in supporting children with needs such as Autism and a willingness to be trained further is required. TA and STA candidates should hold a relevant NVQ 3 qualification, be suitably qualified by experience and have skills/experience credibly proportionate to the role applied for. Apprentice applicants should have the skills to work in a busy secondary school setting and the ability to work towards their NCQ level 3 qualification which we will support.
GCSE Grade 4 (or equivalent) in English and Maths is required for all roles.
