Our Year 8 students had the opportunity to explore career possibilities and develop essential workplace skills during a special Careers Event. We were delighted to welcome colleagues from two significant local employers, who provided valuable insights into different industries and job roles.

A huge thank you to Vicky Ritson from Inspira for helping to facilitate this event, ensuring our students had access to meaningful career-related learning experiences.

The students participated in two engaging sessions. The first, a Supply Chain Workshop led by Balfour Beatty colleagues Kaitlin Richardson, Stuart Logan and Stephen Dale, introduced students to the vast network of local employers and the variety of career opportunities available within the supply chain.

The second session, delivered by Sellafield's Educational Outreach Team, focused on Digital Skills. Joanne Fowler, Gareth White, Sabrina Shaw and Muhammed Dawood set students a series of timed challenges, encouraging them to think about the critical role technology plays in the modern workplace.

Our students engaged enthusiastically in both sessions, gaining invaluable knowledge and practical experience. Events like these are crucial in helping young people explore potential career paths, develop key skills and receive guidance from industry professionals.

A huge thank you to all involved for their time, enthusiasm and expertise - we truly appreciate the support of local employers in inspiring the future workforce.
