Earlier this month, 64 students embarked on an unforgettable adventure to Málaga for a three-night stay in the heart of southern Spain. The trip, packed with cultural experiences and language immersion, offered a perfect blend of education and exploration.
After flying from Leeds Bradford Airport, the group arrived at their accommodation around midday and received a warm welcome. Without wasting time, they headed straight to the beachside language school for a relaxed picnic lunch under the sun. The afternoon kicked off with the first set of Spanish lessons — two full hours of instruction delivered entirely in Spanish. Despite the early morning start, students impressed their teachers by engaging fully and demonstrating impressive focus.
The rest of the trip was filled with a variety of enriching activities. Highlights included additional Spanish lessons, a vibrant flamenco show followed by hands-on workshops in flamenco dancing and drumming, visits to local caves, a town trail and beach sports.
One of the most memorable experiences was the full-day excursion to Málaga city centre. Students visited a local secondary school, explored the historic Alcazaba fortress and enjoyed a guided tour of the old town. The group also savoured a delicious tapas meal at a traditional restaurant and had free time to shop and soak up the city atmosphere.
Throughout the trip, the students were praised for their enthusiasm, behaviour and engagement. Staff at the language school commented that this group was among the best they had ever had - a sentiment echoed by the teachers accompanying the trip.
It was truly a fantastic experience for all involved, combining cultural discovery, language learning and a lot of fun.
