We are delighted to announce that five of our A-level students have secured places at the University of Oxford, following the release of their outstanding examination results.
This remarkable achievement reflects the students’ academic excellence, determination, and ambition, as well as the dedicated support provided by teachers and staff throughout their educational journey.
Alex Cooper will now read Mathematics at Somerville College, whilst his twin Toby will read Chemistry at Lady Margaret Hall. Alex Tzelpsis-Jones will read Physics at Lady Margaret Hall. Danny Winterbottom will read Physics at St Hilda’s College, whilst Jack Milburn will read History at Lady Margaret Hall.
Headteacher Richard King said:
"We are incredibly proud of these students and everything they have achieved. Securing a place at Oxford is an extraordinary accomplishment that speaks to their talent, commitment, and hard work over many years. For five students to achieve places at Oxford from one comprehensive school is a remarkable achievement. We would like to thank our dedicated and talented staff who have supported and inspired these students over their time at Cockermouth School."
We wish these talented students all the very best for the future.
