We are celebrating the success of our Year 13 students, who have achieved a truly remarkable set of A level results. These results are the best that have ever been achieved by the school.
Headteacher, Mr Richard King, said:
“These exceptional results mean that the overwhelming majority of students now have the keys to go on to their anticipated destinations in September. These grades reflect their hard work and dedication over many years.
We congratulate all of our students on their achievements and wish them all every success in the future.”
26 students achieved all A*/A grades, covering the full range of subjects that we offer.
10 students achieved A* grades in all of their subjects.
Alex Cooper, Toby Cooper, Samuel Graham, Jenni Howarth, Cecilia Kenyon, Alexandros Tzelepis-Jones and Danny Winterbottom each achieved 4 A* grades.
The overwhelming majority of the 78 students who applied to university secured their first choice place at their university of choice.
Other students have been successful in gaining places on highly competitive apprenticeship programmes, are moving into employment or the armed forces. Whilst some students are taking advantage of a gap year before taking their next step.
We are very proud of all of our students and their achievements. They have been an outstanding group of young people throughout the time that they have spent at Cockermouth School and we wish all of them the very best in their future careers.
