Our latest Year 5 experience saw us welcome students from All Saints, Bridekirk Dovenby, Broughton, Dean, Eaglesfield Paddle, Fairfield and St Bridget’s Brigham into our school, for an Arts and Careers Event.

During the Arts section of the event, the students got to experience lessons in our fantastic Arts departments.  The Year 5’s had the opportunity explore clay work with Mrs Tinkler in Art, to watch and taking part in a theatre show including puppets with Miss Mossop in Drama and to learn about, listen, play and perform with Mr Relph in Music.

The students were really well engaged throughout and made an excellent impression with their energy and enthusiasm.  It was also great to see some of our students working in these sessions and interacting with the younger students.  They were fabulous ambassadors for our school and they provided fantastic support to all the staff involved.

The Careers Event in our Eco Centre organised by Primary Business Partnership and facilitated by colleagues from the Centre for Leadership Performance, introduced the students to a range of fabulous speakers who came in to speak to the Year 5’s about their organisations and experiences.
We were joined by colleagues from Arco, Eadon Consulting, the NHS, BAE, System People, Amentum and Sir Robert McAlpine.  Everyone who attended did a fantastic job of energising and inspiring our visitors throughout the day.

It was a brilliant event and we cannot wait to invite our Year 5 students back into the school, with our Science event taking place next on Thursday 23 April.
