Students, families and staff at Cockermouth School are celebrating today as Year 11 students receive their GCSE results, marking another strong year of achievement across the school.
The results reflect the hard work, determination and resilience shown by students throughout their time at Cockermouth School, as well as the support of staff, families and carers.
Among the many individual successes, 73 students achieved at least one grade 8 or 9 across the subjects they studied. This is an excellent accomplishment and highlights the breadth of high achievement within this year’s cohort.
Our Headteacher Richard King said:
“We are incredibly proud of our Year 11 students. Their results reflect not only academic ability, but also determination, resilience and the support they have shown for one another throughout their time at Cockermouth School.”
The school is also delighted to see students progressing confidently onto a range of exciting next steps, including Cockermouth School Sixth Form, colleges, apprenticeships and training pathways.
Mr King paid tribute to the staff, parents and carers who have supported students throughout their secondary education, recognising the important role they have played in helping young people reach this significant milestone.
He added:
“Today is about celebrating every student and the next chapter they are ready to begin. We look forward to seeing them build on this success, whether they remain with us in the Sixth Form or take up opportunities elsewhere.”
Congratulations to all of our Year 11 students on their achievements. We wish them every success and happiness as they begin the next chapter of their education and careers. Well done, Year 11!
